Seneca Rocks Art, Framed

Seneca Rocks is located in West Virginia. This piece is framed, ready to hang, and measures 15" W x 12" H.
I'm Lizzy Dalton, a visual artist based in Portland, Oregon. I use pen, ink, and acrylic on paper to create works inspired by natural subjects, characterized by flowing contour lines, intricate patterns, and geometry juxtaposed with organic forms.
Originally from New York state, I moved to the west coast in 2015 to be closer to the wild landscapes that inspire me most. I've been drawing my entire life, and I attended college at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, where I majored in Studio Art. It was during college that I started rock climbing and immediately fell in love with the sport. While I had always enjoyed hiking and spending time in nature, learning to climb only deepened my passion for the outdoors. After college, I spent several years working in the outdoor industry in New York City and Portland, in climbing gyms and outdoor retail.
My love of nature and the outdoors is the biggest source of inspiration for my art. I find time spent in the outdoors to be meditative and rejuvenating. Activities like climbing ignite my desire to explore and discover, and through my adventures I often feel a sense of deep connection to the landscape. In my work I try to capture some of these emotions that my experiences bring. I aim to express peacefulness and balance, a sense of awe and wonderment, and the inspiration that drives us to seek experiences in the outdoors.
I hope that my work will allow viewers to feel the beauty and magic that exists in the natural world, and to recall emotions of their experiences in the outdoors. I hope that this response will inspire action to preserve and protect our wild spaces.

Liberty Bell Art, Print

About Craig:
For Craig, art and climbing are intertwined. Through both pursuits, he finds the adventure and valuable human experiences in which he relies for his sense of identity. Through the spontaneous and compulsive use of color, text and contour, he shares something more than simply a depiction of beautiful landscapes. Instead, his illustrations are an outward expression of the obsession, yearning and emotions associated with his connection to these landscapes. As an illustrator, painter, musician an award winning filmmaker, his work is inspired from a desire to explore a connection to expansive landscapes.

Original Metal Print
$100TURKANA - METAL PRINT, by Sophie Binder, is a beautiful piece of work...with a beautiful story behind it (read below).
This is an original piece, measuring 23 x 33 inches - private collection. Wood burning and watercolor hexaptych (6 maple panels) mounted on painted aluminum.
About the piece, by Sophie:
I approach art as a storyteller - each piece existing as a lasting imprint of experiences, encounters, adventures or discoveries. It may reflect my personal journey, but it is meant to travel broadly, and hopefully touch more souls. Sometimes I create art to narrate the story; sometimes the story evolves from the process of creation. This piece, "Turkana", is the latter.
Her name is Alayakot Lopuul Ekal. She lives among her people of the Turkana tribe in Northern Kenya in the village of Moite on the Eastern shores of Lake Turkana. My dear friend JD has traveled to her village every year to live among the Turkana for months at a time, eventually adopting Alayakot's nephew Damian in order to help him fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor.
Because this piece is inspired by photos my friend took of this family, I had the very special opportunity to exchange messages with Damian about his aunt and the Turkana people.
The conversation warmed my heart. Outliers they may be, but Damian could not wait to tell the world about them.
The Turkana tribe still lives life according to ancestral traditions, Damian explained to me.
The beads around his aunt's neck represent her and her family's efforts to make her more attractive, beautiful and ready for marriage. The more beads donned by the daughter in the family, the more attention given by a possible husband, who - if interested and willing to wed - can pay as many as 30 goats, a camel, a cow and a donkey as a bride price.
Alayakot had a husband, a fisherman of the Ng'ipusho clan. But now, in her late 30s, she is raising 6 children alone after losing him in a capsizing boat accident. Her leaf-like earrings indicate that she is an officially married woman, as does the copper ring around her neck - a piece highly cared for (and symbolically similar to a wedding ring, but considered safer worn around the neck in Turkana tradition). All her life she will wear this ring, the color of which represents the clan she married into - the Ng'ipusho clan.
"I am proud of you, and through your work so many people will learn about Turkana, my tribe, which not so much is known about them, thank you for choosing us (…)" - Damian

About Claire:
Jewelry is a means of self-expression and a way to bring art into everyday life. I've always struggled with how to store my personal jewelry collection in a way that displayed them out in the open where I could see them when I'm getting ready, instead of in a closed jewelry box where jewelry are not only hidden but often tangled and in disarray.
My goal is to provide diverse pieces of artwork that are not only functional but bring personal value, self-expression, and meaning to each individual and their jewelry collection.
All Personal Jewelry Display and Hardwood Jewelry pieces are original and hand-designed. I execute Hardwood Jewelry designs using my personal K40 laser cutter to yield jewelry with the quality of laser technology yet entirely original and unique.
